Dear Sailor:

I hope this missive does not reach you too late, and that you are still in search of inspiration on the questions and scenarios that might be satisfactorally explored in a story written for my pleasures. If, however, you have already begun a thousand words on your favorite hobbyhorse, please ignore the rest of this letter and continue on at your pleasure.

A bit about what I like in general )

P.S. If you are not familiar with the actual legal profession, as practiced in these United States, please do not write any law stuff. The law on this show is ridiculous when it is not terrifying, and it is the one thing about the show that makes me cringe SO MUCH.

Dear [community profile] 3_ships Sailor:

I like threesomes, and you are writing me a threesome, so you are actually probably going to do a good job, right there.

I like sex, and crime fighting, and banter, and humor, and happy endings. I am fine with a plot where bad or painful things happen to characters in the course of their crimefighting or saving the world, but I don't like angst or hurt/comfort.

I love worldbuilding and backstory, whether stuff you made up or stuff you picked up from a related media property. The story I really like most where it's the small group against the world, and they're thrown together by circumstance which forges a bond between them that n oone else can understand. I like all of the parts of that story, whether it's when they meet up, or when they go through the lifechanging event, or after life has calmed down a little and they're a well-oiled machine tackling challenges like laundry or kids.

I love stories with plots. (I totally count relationship plots as plots.) By a plot, I mean a story with a beginning (the world is like this), a middle (stuff happens), and an end (because of the stuff that happened in the middle, the world has changed to this.) I don't like character studies, word pictures, or poetry. On the other hand, if you can write a really sexy PWP, I am down with a plot that goes like, "In the beginning, the three of them were wearing clothes. Then they stripped and had really great sex. Because of the sex, they fell asleep together." So, you know, that.
